Kew – Small Landscape Garden Design

This Kew garden is an example of small landscape garden design Melbourne. At Beddison Garden Designs we created a lovely cottage style garden in the small front garden to complement this attractive red brick home.

The back garden is somewhat larger and the owners requested we accommodate many different functions. We kept the garden practical for them.

We developed paths to allow movement between the garage, existing steps off the deck and into the garden. Paths were built using a combination of old red bricks reused from the site and granitic sand, to provide a sustainable solution. A raised garden bed was constructed on the high side of the back yard. Fences of differing heights were modified and climbers were planted to create a harmonious background.

Our design included a round lawn for the dogs to enjoy, three timber vegetable beds for crop rotation, a timber screen to disguise the clothesline, a bench between an existing Lime tree and the vegetable garden area and that there be a corten ornament, chosen by the owners, to be viewed from the deck.
