What a joy to visit one of my favourite gardens on a misty autumn day!
The garden is held together by strong design with much of its structure created through a series of hedges and well-chosen trees and shrubs. With numerous deciduous trees, autumn colours were stunning.
The long borders looked magical. Entering from the an impressive water garden, the two borders, one cool and one hot were separated by a court featuring two fiery red Acer palmatum and intricate cloud hedging. I love a good border, and as the mist lifted I could see the true beauty and diversity of planting set against a green background.
