Mica Grange was also part of the Castlemaine Garden Festival. Much of the property is quite open, with good use made of existing rocks and uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. The owner specialises in creating core-ten metal art work which is displayed in the garden.
We visited a very special country garden, Jamelyn Heights Garden – Neerim East. Features near the entrance of this large country garden, included two circular hedges with curved faces and double flowering Wisteria’s inside them.
What a joy to visit one of my favourite gardens on a misty autumn day! The garden is held together by strong design with much of its structure created through a series of hedges and well-chosen trees and shrubs. With numerous deciduous trees, autumn colours were stunning.
The Chelsea Flower Show was big! An hour of prime time television was given over to Chelsea highlights each evening for five nights. I arrived at Chelsea in London on Wednesday morning to sunshine.
I visited a wonderful garden on the weekend. Forest Glade is a large (5.6ha) 100 year old garden in Mount Macedon. Autumn colours in trees and shrubs were a highlight with Japanese maples being the stars.
